Assistant Superintendent (Houston)
Position Summary:The Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent in managing daily field operations on construction projects. This role is ideal for a professional with 2–5 years of construction experience who is looking to grow into a lead field leadership position. The Assistant Superintendent helps ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Assist the Superintendent with day-to-day on-site construction activities and coordination of subcontractorsMonitor project schedules and help ensure work is completed on time and in sequenceEnforce jobsite safety standards and participate in safety meetings and inspectionsSupport quality control efforts by inspecting work for compliance with plans, specifications, and codesHelp coordinate deliveries, materials, and equipment to maintain workflow efficiencyMaintain daily logs, reports, and documentation of jobsite activitiesAssist in resolving field issues, conflicts, and RFIs in coordination with the project teamCommunicate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and internal team membersEnsure jobsite cleanliness, organization, and adherence to company standardsQualifications:2–5 years of experience in commercial or residential construction (field experience required)Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)Basic understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and safety practicesFamiliarity with construction drawings, specifications, and building codesStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsProficiency in construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools) is a plusPreferred Skills:OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationExperience working on ground-up or large-scale renovation projectsAbility to read and interpret construction documentsStrong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environmentWork Environment:Primarily based on active construction jobsitesRequires walking, standing, climbing, and working in varying weather conditionsMay require occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines
