Emergency Medicine Physician

Location: Northwest AlaskaJob Type: 1099 Locum Tenens ContractDate Range: January 6th - 20th, 2026Compensation:$250.00 hourly rate$375.00 hourly call-back rate (paid for time worked over scheduled shifts)2 paid travel days (1 arrival, 1 departure), paid at 4 hrs each day at the regular hourly rateER Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 8:00pmResponsibilities:Patient Volume: 5-10 patients per shiftStaffing Mix: Fully staffed ED with a Hospitalist as backup, if neededIn addition to emergency department coverage, the physician will provide support to village clinics and assist with patient transports to the hospital as neededPosition Requirements:Active Alaska State Physician (MD/DO) licenseBoard CertificationActive BLS, ACLS, PALSActive DEA registrationMinimum 2 years of full-spectrum emergency experienceDirect experience with medivac and patient care stabilization, including intubations, chest tubes, and complicated airways; must have strong suturing skillsExperience working in rural or remote Alaska is highly preferredMust be culturally sensitive and willing to embrace the native community and their culture.
