In addition to active field support, the Regional HSE Professional identifies patterns, trends, and recurring conditions across projects that may influence decision-making and behaviors, and supports consistent, risk-informed application of company HSE programs. The role partners with Site HSE Supervisors (when assigned) share regional learnings, coordinate priorities, and reinforce consistent program applications. The Regional HSE Professional collaborates with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to provide field-based coaching, verification, and escalation support related to health, safety, and environmental risk management; however, this position does not direct day-to-day construction operations, production sequencing, scheduling, staffing, or means and methods.TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSThis position will report to the nearest branch office location and is a traveling role and requires regular and frequent travel, including overnight stays, to active projects within an assigned geographic region. Travel is necessary to observe work activities, engage with project leadership, and support regional HSE objectives. Travel frequency and regional coverage are determined based on operational needs and in coordination with the HSE Director. Upon approval from the HSE Director, this position may be a hybrid role. Other duties may be assigned.Maintains sustained field engagement across active projects within the assigned region by routinely walking job sites, observing work in progress, engaging crews and supervision, and following up to verify hazards are mitigated and controls remain effective; coordinates multiple project visits and overnight travel as project conditions require.Provides field-based coaching, guidance, and escalation support to Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to strengthen pre-task planning, hazard recognition, and risk-informed decision-making, without assuming responsibility for day-to-day project execution.Escalates unresolved hazardous conditions or repeated non-compliance through appropriate leadership channels.Coordinates regional HSE support activities, including third-party testing or sampling when required, and communicates findings and needs through appropriate HSE and project leadership channels.Identifies trends and common conditions across projects, including potential serious injury and fatality (SIF) precursors, and communicates findings to the HSE Director and appropriate leadership to support system-level learning and improvement.Supports consistency in the application of company HSE programs by observing implementation across projects and providing feedback to improve clarity, usability, and effectiveness; reinforces consistent expectations through field verification and follow-up.Supports targeted field communications across projects (e.g., toolbox talks, briefings, or focused safety meetings) based on observed conditions, changing scope, and regional trends/lessons learned.Participates in the review of incidents, near-misses, and significant events occurring across the region to support learning, pattern recognition, and appropriate escalation; assists with verification of corrective actions as assigned.Conducts and document employee safety observations, project/site inspections (including company property as applicable), and periodic company vehicle safety inspections during regional field visits, as needed.Documents field observations, coaching provided, hazards identified/mitigated, trends, and notable findings in the company's HSE reporting system to support communication, analysis, and continuous improvement.Develops and maintains an individual professional development plan, approved by the HSE Director, and completes ongoing job-relevant professional development in accordance with the Workforce Capability & Competency Program.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.High school diploma or GED required.Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting health, safety, or environmental activities in construction or industrial work environments required.Bachelor's degree in safety, health, or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience will be considered.OSHA 30–Hour Construction is required.Valid First Aid/CPR Card or ability to obtain.Professional safety certifications (e.g., STSC, CHST, GSP, etc.) are preferred; candidates without certification are expected to pursue an appropriate credential within one (1) year, subject to eligibility and program requirements.OSHA 500 (Construction Trainer) preferred, or the ability to obtain OSHA 500 authorization, subject to applicable eligibility requirements; alternatively, demonstrate equivalent instructional competency for field-based training.Ability to engage professionally and constructively with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel to address site hazards, conditions, and risk-related concerns.Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with employees, supervision, and management across multiple levels.Ability to work effectively in dynamic field environments, including responding appropriately to changing site conditions, operational pressures, and time-sensitive issues.Ability to organize work activities, follow up on tasks and assignments in a timely manner, and manage workload with minimal supervision.Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build positive working relationships across multiple levels of the organization.Proficiency with common business and reporting software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, for documentation, communication, and reporting purposes.Ability to perform basic business mathematical functions as required for documentation and reporting.Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and commitment to company values.Compliance with all applicable company policies, procedures, executed plans, and programs is required.LANGUAGE SKILLSMust have a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees, government agencies, customers, vendors, and suppliers.#comunale #LI-AL1The physical requirements described here are representative of those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
