Interim Deputy General Counsel
Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for an Interim Deputy General Counsel at a FinTechOverview: A FinTech seeks an Interim Deputy General Counsel to cover a parental leave.Company: A Technology-enabled Debt Resolution Platform.Experience: 10-15+ Years Experience handling Product and Regulatory work in the Financial Services Space with a preference for candidates who have been a General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel.Location: NYC Hybrid Preferred. Open to Remote.Responsibilities Include: Product & Regulatory Counseling:Provide day-to-day legal guidance across the product development lifecycle.Identify, assess, and navigate regulatory risks affecting consumer-facing products.Review and operationalize internal product and regulatory playbooks.Consumer Litigation Support:Manage consumer litigation, including intake, strategy, and coordination.Help build scalable processes for managing disputes and litigation exposure.Commercial & Cross-Functional Support:Coordinate with and support outsourced commercial counsel, providing oversight of client and vendor contracts.Provide legal support across commercial, operational, and compliance matters as needed.Qualifications:Licensed attorney with experience advising on product and regulatory issues.Experience in regulated or adjacent industries (e.g., financial services, fintech, healthcare).Strong judgment under uncertainty and time pressure.Clear, concise communicator with a pragmatic, business-oriented approach.Hands-on, operational mindset.Experience in a high-growth or startup environment.Exposure to financial regulatory regimes.Experience building or scaling legal processes.Experience with Slack, Asana, and/or Notion.Information regarding benefits can be found on MLA’s Website on the Consultant Resources Page: https://www.mlaglobal.com/en/consultant-resources All interested and qualified candidates should apply directly with Major, Lindsey & Africa for review and consideration.Major, Lindsey & Africa does not discriminate against applications on the basis of age, sex, race or any other protected characteristics pursuant to applicable state or federal laws.JOB ID: 250026
