Unit Manager

Overview:Responsible to the Section Manager and the Department Manager, the Unit Manager supervises employees to achieve productivity and quality goals. Responsible for communicating organizational needs, overseeing employees' performance, providing guidance and support, identifying development needs, and managing the reciprocal relationship between the staff and the organization so that all are successful.Responsibilities:Manage the activities of the hourly/bargaining unit employees to meet quality and productivity targets. Train and develop employees, evaluate employee performance, and provide constructive feedback. Prepare and maintain employee records and other documentation, time keeping records, and production records. Coordinate model changeovers, ensure products are manufactured according to bill of materials and work instructions, and backflush daily to ensure parts transformation into finished goods.Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to applicable regulations.Manage the hourly workforce in compliance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:High School Diploma required. Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience. Must have strong problem-solving, supervisory, and leadership skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Effective, efficient oral and written communications skills (emails, fact sheets, etc.) required. Familiar with timekeeping systems and SAP a plus.Physical Requirements:Work is performed in a production factory environment and requires the ability to walk throughout the facility and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to operate standard office equipment and keyboards in close proximity to others. Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis.
