We are actively evolving how career education is delivered by integrating technology, real-world skill development, and scalable instructional design to improve student outcomes and workforce readiness.Position SummaryCharter College is seeking an Instructional Design and Curriculum Development Specialist to design and continuously improve workforce-aligned learning experiences across our programs, with a primary focus on allied health.This role goes beyond traditional course development. You will function as a learning architect, translating clinical, certification, and employer expectations into competency-based, skills-driven learning experiences delivered through online, hybrid, and simulation-based formats.You will collaborate with subject matter experts, faculty, and academic leadership to build scalable, high-impact programs that prepare students for real-world performance.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop competency-based learning experiences for online, hybrid, and simulation-based delivery environmentsTranslate industry, clinical, and certification requirements into structured learning pathways with measurable outcomesApply modern instructional design methodologies, including backward design and Universal Design for Learning (UDL), to ensure alignment between competencies, instruction, and assessmentDevelop performance-based assessments that validate student skill acquisition and workforce readinessPartner with subject matter experts and program leaders to ensure curriculum reflects current clinical practices and employer expectationsLeverage multimedia, simulation tools, and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to enhance engagement and scalabilityEvaluate and continuously improve curriculum using student performance data, feedback, and accreditation standardsManage and optimize course delivery within the Learning Management System (Canvas preferred), ensuring quality, consistency, and accessibilityProvide guidance and training to faculty on instructional best practices and effective course deliveryEnsure all curriculum meets ADA accessibility standards and aligns with accreditation and regulatory requirementsQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Curriculum Development, or a related fieldMinimum of three years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or learning experience designExperience designing online, hybrid, or simulation-based learning environmentsStrong understanding of competency-based education and skills-based assessment designExperience working with Learning Management Systems (Canvas preferred)Experience with instructional design and authoring tools such as Articulate, Rise, or CaptivateStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environmentPreferredMaster’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related fieldExperience in allied health, career education, or workforce training environmentsExperience working with clinical or hands-on training programsFamiliarity with multimedia development, video tools, and interactive content creationExperience using data and analytics to improve learning outcomesWhat We Offer100% Remote Work EnvironmentCompetitive Salary: $70,000 to $90,000 annually, based on experience and qualificationsComprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and visionPaid time off and holidaysProfessional development support and tuition assistanceOpportunity to contribute to innovative program development and instructional strategiesWhy This Role MattersThis position plays a critical role in shaping how Charter College delivers education in high-demand healthcare fields.
