Intake Therapist - Physician's Clinic

The Intake Therapist is responsible for completing clinical intakes, diagnostic assessments, and required treatment plan reviews/updates in accordance with state regulations, Medicaid and other payer requirements, and RiverValley Behavioral Health policies. Join a mission-driven organization committed to clinical excellence, professional growth, and meaningful impact.We offer:Competitive payComprehensive benefits (health, dental, vision, Telehealth)Paid time off + 9 holidaysRetirement plan optionsTuition reimbursement + free CEUsClinical supervisionWellness & employee assistance programsMileage reimbursement for work related travelPublic Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) - eligible employerEssential Functions: Complete timely clinical intakes and biopsychosocial assessments upon admissionPerform diagnostic evaluations using DSM-5-TR criteriaDevelop initial treatment plans that are individualized, measurable, and clinically appropriateComplete treatment plan reviews and updates within required regulatory and payer timeframesEnsure documentation clearly supports medical necessity and continued servicesEnter all assessments, treatment plans, and reviews accurately in the EHRMaintain compliance with state licensing regulations, Medicaid and payer standards, accreditation requirements, and HIPAAParticipate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetingsCommunicate effectively with psychiatry, nursing, case management, and utilization review staffRespond to documentation corrections, audits, and quality reviews as requestedOther duties assigned.Education and ExperienceEducation: Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related behavioral health fieldLicensure: Active, unrestricted clinical license eligible for billing under state and payer guidelines (e.g., LCSW, CSW as allowed, LPCC/LPC, LMFT, Psychologist)Experience: Clinical experience completing assessments and treatment planning in a behavioral health setting; experience with Medicaid or insurance-based documentation preferredSkills and Abilities: Knowledge of medical necessity and behavioral health documentation standardsAbility to meet regulatory timelines and productivity expectationsStrong clinical documentation and written communication skillsProficiency with electronic health record systemsAbility to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary teamStrong organizational and time-management skills
