Because we believe that your career path should be as unique as you are.Job Responsibilities:To supervise the Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing activities of the Assembly area in order to meet or exceed customer expectations by producing quality products in a timely manner and working together to promote a team-oriented atmosphereResponsibilities:Responsible for quality and conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems; authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to manager, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering department representativeMaintain work areas to meet and exceed customer requirementsEnsure TS16949 and ISO14001 Work Instructions are followed by team membersHave a basic knowledge of robotic Metal Inert Gas (MIG) and spotweld equipmentVisually monitor housekeeping and plant organization (5S)Monitor and address safety, environmental, and ergonomic concerns on the shop floorMonitor quality issues toward our goal of zero defectsControl overtime; manage work schedules and approve employee time & attendanceImprove efficiency by reducing set-up timesReduce scrap and work to eliminate waste in the manufacturing processLead problem-solving efforts to determine root-cause and prevent failure recurrenceTrain new employees and coach team to achieve overall business objectivesPerform Forklift Operator training and testing with support from Safety ManagerCreate and implement Continuous Improvement suggestionsMonitor employee performance; complete evaluations on-time; issue Corrective Action Requests as required to improve employee performanceEnforce company policies as outlined in the Employee HandbookPerform Weekly Safety Meetings as defined by the Weekly Safety Topics ProgramHelp manage Performance Measurables such as Incident Rate, Weekly Inspection Results, Safety, Environmental & Ergonomic Audits, and Employee Opinion Survey scoresPerform Incident Investigations timely to determine root-cause and prevent recurrenceManage fairly according to the Magna Employee Charter and Operational PrinciplesQualifications:2 - 4 years' supervisory experienceAutomotive assembly experienceManufacturing, preferably in an automotive environmentPrior team leader experience helpfulMaintenance experience helpful but not requiredSkills:Ability to supervise general manufacturing processes and team membersAbility to plan and delegate assignmentsMust be able to speak, read, and write EnglishIndividual must be a good communicator and a good listenerMust have good understanding of manufacturing operations, machine set-up and changeovers, safety, and quality issuesMust possess good interpersonal skills and present a positive attitudeAbility to motivate team members and set a good exampleAbility to evaluate performance and address discipline issuesAbility to work overtime hours including weekends requiredGood problem-solving abilities and teamwork skillsAbility to visually monitor production processes and product quality as well as safetyAbility to inspect products using fixtures and precise measuring equipmentEducation:High School diplomaSome technical training preferred or college degreeBenefits:Low-Cost Health InsuranceLow-Cost Dental Insurance + Vision Insurance401(k) MatchingEmployee Profit Sharing PlanPaid VacationPaid HolidaysParental LeaveNursing RoomTuition Reimbursement and Online Career Development with Free TuitionReferral Program - Up to $1,500 per Skill Trade ReferralOnsite cafeteria Serving Hot Breakfast and LunchSelf-Checkout Snacks and Drinks MarketEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee Discount ProgramAnnual Employee and Family EventsAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
