Growing together.The Medical Assistant (MA) participates in providing patient care at the appropriate skill level. They have a duty to provide a standard of care that meets or exceeds that of a reasonably competent and knowledgeable Medical Assistant. The MA performs duties within their scope of practice delegated by, and under the supervision of a provider or physician.Duties include organizing the clinical environment and providing support in patient care situations. Support includes but is not limited to assisting the physician and nursing personnel and includes duties listed in the job functions below along with other various other procedures under the direct supervision of the provider or other members of the clinical team. The MA delivers quality customer service, ensures policies and procedures are followed including infection control, and privacy and confidentiality.Primary Responsibilities:Performs all duties within the scope of a MA's practiceOperates diagnostic equipment, removes staples from superficial wounds, changes wound dressing and obtains cultures, administers non-intravenous medication, performs simple specimen collection via noninvasive techniques, collects blood specimens via venipuncture, and performs EKGsPerforms quality control checks on equipmentPrepares and sterilizes medical equipment using autoclaveRooms patients according to policy and procedures, prepares patient for examinationRecords patient care documentation in the medical record accurately and timelyCoordinates patient care as directed by physicians, company standards, and policiesMaintains patient confidentiality at all times and treats patients with courtesy and respectOrganizes exam and treatment rooms, stocks and cleans rooms, and sterilizes equipmentPractices standard infection control precautionsSupports and follows Standard Delegation of orders (SDO)Performs all related duties as assignedYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School graduate, GED or equivalentCurrent, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or the ability to obtain the certification within 180 days of employmentCurrent BLS certification for healthcare providers at time of hire or within 30 days of hireProven knowledge of medical terminologyDemonstrated basic computer literacyProven intermediate Excel skillsProven solid communication skillsDemonstrated ability to react calmly in emergency situationsThis position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor's diagnosis of diseasePreferred Qualifications:1+ years of experience as a Medical AssistantProven knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codingPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
