Your Role With Us: Verify physician orders for accuracy and compliance prior to transcription of orders. Address any order discrepancies by coordinating communication between provider’s office and Salem Health clinical staff. Determine if authorization is required, contacting appropriate individuals or insurance company. Insurance verification for registration and appointment reimbursement purposes. Use of WorkQue, Fax machine, Epic Inbasket, Rightfax (referral fax Outlook mailbox) to transcribe all faxed referrals to Epic appropriately. Completes workque assignments within appropriate timeframes. Accurately register patients as well as being able to identify payer authorization requirement. A moderate understanding of insurance authorization and financial processing accounts; College level course study in healthcare occupations preferred. Previous EPIC Prelude and Cadence experience . College level course study in healthcare occupations preferred. Certified HealthCare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred. Keyboarding at 45 wpm; Moderate understanding of Medical Terminology and billing codes (ICD-10, CPT) preferred. Excellent interpersonal communication skills which convey a positive and supportive intent; Exceptional customer service skills projecting a friendly and professional image. Ability to work independently, self-directed and work with individuals with diverse background; Must be capable of working under pressure with continuous telephone calls and constant interruptions.
