Shipping and Packing Operation Assistant (1 Year Experience)

We are a wholesaler and distributor of Fine/Bridge Jewelry Company, which specializes in supporting brands under the Major TV Shopping Channels and Department Stores. We have an opening for Shipping and Packing Operation Assistant position in New York City. We’re looking for a self-directed, highly motivated individual to join our team and help us excel in this exciting industry. The job description includes (but is not limited to) the following responsibilities: Prepare shipping labels, prepare the goods for shipping per the customer orders, and ship them in UPS/Fed-Ex/USPS. Pulling items from proper locations and preparing for shipment.. Check all incoming inventory against purchase orders and vendor packing slips. Assist Quality Control on all inbound shipments according to customer’s specifications and QA requirements. Maintains a working knowledge of the operational process and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. RTV all defected items back to the vendor and issue Merchandise Return and Credit Perform Shipping and Receiving Duty using Carrier’s software interface Office and administration tasks, including filing, book-keeping as well as managing day to day office work Assist the Managing Director with urgent and/or ad hoc projects Qualifications/Skills & Knowledge Requirements: Experience with FedEx, UPS inbound, outbound shipment software on both international and domestic shipment knowledge of EDI and EDI function Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and common computer skills. Solid verbal and written communication skills Thorough attention to detail Detail oriented with solid ability to handle multiple projects at once Must be self-directed and highly motivated and require little direct supervision Must have strong critical thinking skills – able to anticipate problems and provide solutions. Must be detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy and consistency. Requires the use of hands to handle objects and merchandise; ability to talk and hear; ability to stand for extended periods of time; ability to stock shelves by climbing ladders; able to bend, twist, stoop, reach, and lift/move inventory up to 50 lbs.; and vision to determine colors for fulfilling orders.
