Diesel Truck Mechanic
Job DescriptionDuties & Responsibilities:Receives work direction from Maintenance Manager and Lead Truck Mechanic. Provides emergency repair maintenance service as needed to minimize downtime. Provides all necessary inspections and documents results. Provides routine (unscheduled) maintenance service with general to limited supervision (depending on expertise). Typically, such specialties could involve some of the following: replace and adjust all brake components on vehicles, perform electrical repairs and trouble shoot, including replacing wire harnesses. Understanding of the operation and safety concerns of lift gates including the ability to trouble shoot and repair. Ability to diagnose and replace engine components including turbos, compressors, etc. Understanding of the operation and regeneration process for Diesel Particulate Filters. Trouble shoot and repair all types of hydraulic equipment including motors, cylinders, etc. Performs other required duties as needed in addition to the essential duties and responsibilities described above. Requirements:Must be experienced in mechanical, electrical, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and fork-lift certified. Must have experience in repairing (Volvo/MAC/Peterbilt) tractors, trailers, Cummings engines, rebuilt engines, emissions, small autos, and forklift repairs. May be required to move up to 50lbs. and work at high elevations. Needs strong ability to read and write to complete necessary forms, follow OSHA requirements, and sometimes read schematics and schedules. Also needs ability to use basic shop math. Needs to work quickly, independently, and efficiently under pressure.
