Testing Proctor-Dare
FLSA: Technical Paraprofessional, non-exempt
The Part-Time Testing Center Proctor supports the administration of in-person and virtual testing services by maintaining testing security, confidentiality, and standardized testing procedures in accordance with institutional, vendor, ADA, FERPA, and testing protocol requirements. The proctor provides customer service and technical support to students, faculty, and staff while ensuring a secure and professional testing environment.
The Testing Center Proctor receives supervision from the Director, Learning Commons.
Testing Administration
Administer and monitor in-person and online examinations in accordance with established testing protocols and vendor requirements.
Verify student identity and eligibility prior to testing.
Maintain testing security, confidentiality, and integrity throughout the testing process.
Enforce testing center rules, procedures, and behavioral expectations.
Accommodations & Compliance
Assist in implementing approved testing accommodations in coordination with appropriate college personnel.
Maintain confidentiality of student records and accommodation-related information in accordance with FERPA and applicable laws.
Technical & Operational Support
Provide basic technical assistance related to testing software and testing center equipment.
Monitor testing schedules and assist with appointment coordination.
Prepare testing materials, testing rooms, and equipment for administration.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate testing records, incident documentation, and required reports.
Report testing irregularities, misconduct concerns, technical issues, or security violations to appropriate personnel.
Customer Service
Provide professional assistance to students, faculty, staff, and community members using testing center services.
Required
Associate's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
One year of experience in customer service, office support, testing services, student services, or a related environment requiring professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
Once hired, will be required to obtain proctor certifications in a testing center environment.
Preferred
Previous work experience in an educational institution.
One year experience providing student technical assistance.
Experience with multiple software packages and online testing software.
Experience with online testing platforms and testing center technologies.
Experience troubleshooting basic technical issues in a student support environment.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and testing security standards.
Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and secure testing environments.
Ability to recognize and appropriately report testing irregularities or security concerns.
Maintain testing security, confidentiality, and integrity throughout the testing process.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
Ability to operate and troubleshoot basic testing software and office technology.
Ability to learn and utilize student information and testing systems.
Working Conditions
Continuous monitoring of testing environments requiring sustained attention to detail.
Prolonged sitting and computer usage.
Frequent interaction with students and the public.
Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required
Physical Requirements
Ability to communicate effectively in person and electronically.

Ability to move testing materials weighing up to 15 pounds occasionally.
