This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a phlebotomist who is extremely confident in venipuncture, able to perform difficult draws independently, and capable of representing our company professionally in the field.Many of our collections are time-sensitive, specialty, or medically important. Accuracy, specimen integrity, professionalism, and patient care are critical in this role.Please note: Many of our patients may have difficult venous access due to medical history, long-term treatments, dehydration, or other clinical factors. Candidates must be highly confident in independent venipuncture and experienced with difficult blood draws in mobile or clinical settings.⸻Responsibilities* Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients of various ages and conditions* Handle difficult draws with confidence and professionalism* Properly label, process, package, and prepare specimens for transport* Follow client-specific protocols, chain-of-custody procedures, and specimen handling requirements* Maintain strict infection control and safety standards* Travel to patient homes, clinics, facilities, and partner locations throughout San Diego County* Document collection details accurately and communicate updates to dispatch/admin staff* Provide excellent bedside manner and patient care during each encounter* Maintain professionalism while working independently in the field⸻Required Qualifications* Current California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) license* Minimum 3+ years of phlebotomy experience preferred* Strong venipuncture skills required, including difficult draws* Experience with mobile phlebotomy, specialty kits, or clinical/research collections preferred* Knowledge of specimen processing and handling procedures* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills* Strong attention to detail and professionalism* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision* Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license* Current CPR certification preferred⸻Preferred Experience* Mobile phlebotomy* Behavioral health or senior care facility collections* Specialty laboratory kits* Chain-of-custody collections* Drug testing and DNA collections* Clinical research specimen handling⸻Compensation & Perks* Competitive compensation* Mileage reimbursement opportunities depending on assignment* Flexible scheduling* Opportunity for recurring facility assignments and long-term growth* Diverse collection experience in mobile and specialty healthcare settings⸻Important NoteOnly experienced phlebotomists who are confident performing difficult venipunctures independently should apply.
