You’ll analyze field data, maintain accurate records, and prepare clear technical reports. This is a hands-on, in-person position that requires comfort in active construction environments and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and conduct mercury, asbestos, and lead surveys; mercury clearance testing; and post-abatement inspections in the field.Maintain field logs and analyze survey findings to communicate results clearly to clients.Write concise technical reports using field data; revise based on PM review.Respond to and assist with field emergencies (utility issues, water leaks, pipe breaks, etc.).Operate and maintain specialized scientific equipment (Ohio Lumex mercury vapor analyzer, XRF analyzer).Support the Project Manager and Senior Environmental Scientist in remediation work following survey activities.Working ConditionsMinimum 40 hours/week (four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days); occasional nights/weekends possible but not routine.Active construction environments, both interior and exterior; varying temperatures (30°F–100°F).Must be able to pass a physical and wear a respirator; ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, stoop, bend, and pull objects.Work attire: pants, company-provided shirts, steel/composite toe boots, protective glasses, gloves, hard hat as applicable.Requires federal background check and ability to be badged for access to government installations.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, construction management, or a related field.OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification (current, including annual refreshers) — or willingness to obtain upon hire; company will sponsor for the right candidate.Knowledge of asbestos abatement, demolition, and construction methodologies, safety regulations, and environmental compliance.Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Suite.Ability to read and understand project documents such as RFPs, contracts, schedules, and technical specifications.Preferred (not required):OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification.Experience with project management software.Understanding of the government contracting process.Conversational Spanish.Compensation & BenefitsBase salary: $60,000–$75,000/year depending on experience.401(k) retirement plan with employer contributions.Health, dental, and vision insurance.Paid time off and parental leave.Bonus opportunities.Professional development opportunities and company-sponsored events.
