Mental Health Therapist

Autumn Counseling Services, LLC is searching for a clinician to join our practice in a hybrid position in Clackamas. We are hiring for a Mental Health Therapist role to provide mental health therapy with a focus on the LGBTQIA+ community. This is a W2 non-exempt position. Develops treatment plan with client. Utilizes evidence based practices while providing counseling to clients. Counsels and advises individuals, families, couples, and groups to promote optimum mental and emotional health, with an emphasis on prevention by performing the following duties.Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Conducts individual or family therapy sessions to assess emotional, mental, and behavioral concerns.*Counsels clients, individually or in group sessions, to assist in managing mental health symptoms and making progress towards life goals.*Guides clients in the development of skills or strategies for dealing with their problems and symptoms.*Uses appropriate evidenced-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each client.*Creates a safe and supportive therapeutic environment to facilitate client growth and healing by establishing and maintaining therapeutic rapport.*Develops and implements treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge, as well as client's needs and goals. Evaluate over time and adjust treatment plan as necessary.*Collects information about clients through interviews, assessments, measures, and observations.*Performs crisis interventions to help ensure the safety of clients and others.*Evaluates the effectiveness of counseling programs on client’s progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.*Adheres to ethical and legal standards in therapy practice.*Maintains confidentiality of records relating to client’s treatment.*Completes and maintains accurate documentation according to federal, state, and practice guidelines in a timely manner.*Follows practice policies, procedures, objectives, and patient care standards based on evidence-based practice guidelines or expert opinion.*Advocates for client and assists them in advocating for themselves.*Provides psychoeducation to clients, and possibly their families, about mental health symptoms and treatment.*Follows licensing board's requirements to maintain an active license.*Learns about new developments in counseling by reading professional literature/research or attending trainings.Refers patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.Attends staff collaboration/consulting meetings.Attends clinical supervision and collaboration/consult meetings in an individual and group settingQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Requirements:Reside in OregonLicensure: QMHP, LCSW, LPC, MFT, CSWA, or Professional Counselor AssociateExperience as a therapist and working with the LGBTQIA+ communityMust work at least 10 clinical hours a weekWilling to work after school times.Preferred:Licensed or associate in OregonIf licensed: preferably already paneled with insurance, if not must be willing to do so.If not licensed, you are applying to be or currently a CSWA.Willing to work with diverse age groupsLanguage Ability:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.Education/Experience:Master's degree (M.A./M.S./MSW) or equivalent. Internship or work experience in a similar role.Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:Extensive knowledge of mental health conditions and best practices for psychological treatment.Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.Well-developed listening and interview skills to explore patient needs and administer treatment plans.Skilled in active listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Must have strong organizational skills to uphold ethical documentation standards and expectations.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
