Structural Engineer Job Description
CORE is searching for a talented and driven Structural Engineer to support the development, design, and construction of facility-related projects, guiding them from concept to completion.
Responsibilities & Duties
Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and requirements for structural engineering aspects.
Utilize knowledge of materials, labor, and construction methods to develop accurate cost estimates for structural components of projects.
Conduct structural analysis and design of industrial and manufacturing structures, including structural steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Evaluate and provide feedback on detailed design drawings to ensure accuracy, structural integrity, and adherence to project specifications.
Prepare comprehensive construction specifications outlining materials, methods, and quality standards for structural components of projects.
Compile and organize construction document packages, including drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents, for issuance to contractors and construction teams.
Ensure that all structural designs and construction documents comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Conduct quality assurance checks to verify accuracy and completeness of deliverables.
Skills & Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Michigan or ability be licensed through reciprocity
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on facility-related projects
Thorough comprehension of building codes, ASCE, and current steel and concrete codes
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop creative and practical structural solutions tailored to the unique requirements of each project type
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Function effectively in a team environment
Ability to prioritize tasks
Highly developed attention to detail
Experience with Revit is required
Experience with RAM elements, Tekla TEDDS, & other analytical software is desired
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
