Job Quick Facts: Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgery Job Type: Locum Tenens Facility Location: Cumberland, MD Service Setting: Inpatient Reason For Coverage: Supplemental Coverage Period: Nov 26, 2025 - Ongoing Coverage Type: Call only Shifts needed to be filled: - Nov 26-30 - Dec 26 - Jan 5 Call Schedule 24 or 12-hr call; 7a-7a or 7p-7a - Should cover at least 1 week per month Call Response Time: 30 mins No. of Cases: 1-3 per day - 133 per year Patient Demographics: Adults only Admissions: 1-3 (while on call) Rounding Included: Yes; 2-4 hrs - With PA in a.m. Support Staff: PA Mid-level in Practice: Available; 7a-7a Case Mix: Open Heart, Carotid & possibly lung cases Required Procedure: Bypass Surgery Duties: - Rounding w/ PA in a.m. & perform any necessary procedures that may come throughout the day; PA takes the calls & the surgeon is only contacted if there is an urgent/emergent issues. - Rounding 2-4 hrs depending on how many surgical patients were completed that week. Typically, round together w/ the PA that is on with them. Trauma Level: III EMR: Meditech Other Info: - Will work solo. - PAs do the Endovascular Saphenous Vein Harvesting (EVH) - Consults are taken by PA & discussed via phone w/ physician to determine next steps. - Onsite not needed after rounding; 30 min response time. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered Requirements: Active MD License BC/BE (in Cardiac or Cardiac & Thoracic) DEA/CSR At least 2 years of experience
