Awareness of formal S&R routines is a plus but not required. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk role is support within the Lab Services Division. Typical assignments are focused on customer service, package receipt, and on-site delivery tasks. This energetic and detail-oriented person will be part of a larger biotech services company, providing fast-paced inbound and shipping needs for multiple tenants via the operation of a centralized Shipping & Receiving area. This role is for a Full-Time (40 hour/week), Non-Exempt, Hourly S&R position. Pay scale for this position is $22.00 - $24.00 per hour.Job DescriptionEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReceiving packages, entering into Shipping & Receiving tracking database and delivering to site tenants in a professional mannerProcessing pre-packaged outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, completeness, promptness, accountability, and condition of shipments meet established standardsUtilizing company routines and materials management technologies to ensure goods securityActing as an on-site Point-of-Contact for end users regarding Shipping & Receiving supportEscorting delivery personnel and special equipment when necessarySafely utilizing pallet jacks, delivery carts, and forklifts, and other S&R equipmentFollowing site-specific SOPs, work procedures, and Shipping & Receiving programsUnder the supervision of the S&R Supervisor, maintaining shipping and receiving equipmentTraveling between client locations as necessaryEnsuring work areas are clean, organized, and safePerforming additional support-level and in-scope S&R tasks as necessaryMinimum Training, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and/or QualificationsHigh School Diploma/G.E.D.Customer Service skills experienceFamiliarity with the laboratory environment and/or Shipping & Receiving environment a plus but not requiredAbility to safely lift items heavy packages and carry short distancesAbility to operate a forklift; current Forklift Certification a plus but training can be providedProficient with the Microsoft ecosystem (Windows, Office, Office 365, etc.)Additional Employee ExpectationsWork proactively and positively with a high-level of independence and intrinsic motivationStrong organizational, communication, and customer service skillsMaintain open, professional, and productive dialogue with internal employees and clientsOperate efficiently and develop a mastery of all assigned tasksDemonstrate a desire to grow by seeking out new opportunities and enhancing burgeoning skillsExhibit maturity and a leadership mentalityAnticipate contingencies and adapt to changes quicklyBe open and willing to learn from othersIdentify areas for improvement and make constructive suggestions for changeAdhere to company and client safety and operational policiesA professional work ethic and team-centric mindsetPhysical Requirements:Significant standing, walking, moving, carrying, bending, kneeling, reaching, and handling, pushing, and pulling.Ability to move and lift boxes up to 50lbs without assistance.Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
