Manufacturing Process Engineer

Position Description:Support Manufacturing Process Engineering activity for Axle Carrier MachiningDrive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivityApply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and productsLead development of interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D methodology and structured problem-solving tools.Lead and conduct process audits to ensure process discipline is consistent with Powertrain Operations guidelinesConduct job ergonomic evaluations and deliver corrective actions as requiredAnalyze carrier inventory root causes; engage in mapping and corrective actions to reduce carrier rejectsCreate process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods and processesDeliver capable processes and tools for Carrier Machining operationsLead role in resolving machining related concerns. Lead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives and best practicesEnsure compliance to Plant, Corporate, Governmental and Environmental standardsSupport ISO 14001 compliance and support internal ISO auditing and compliance as requiredSupport continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity in the Carrier Machining AreaIdentify throughput constraints and drive root cause improvements to achieve Rate of Climb targetsSkills Required:Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Problem Solving, Good Manufacturing PracticesSkills Preferred:Process Validation, Process Improvement, PPAP processes , Manufacturing Processes, Lean Six Sigma, Machining, ToolingExperience Required:5+ yrs of related experienceSuccessful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in Client (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skillsExperience Preferred:Machining or tooling experience in a manufacturing environmentEffective oral and written communication skillsLean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience8D and 5Why corrective action and problem solving skillsLean Tools 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream MappingDMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) Project Methodology experienceTQM and Kaizen MethodsFMEA, PPAP, and DOEs experienceVisual Factory ManagementErgonomic analysis knowledge and experienceEducation Required:High School Diploma / GEDEducation Preferred:Bachelor's degree in engineeringAdditional Information:Fully onsiteWe offer attractive, competitive compensation and benefits including, medical, dental, 401k, short-term disability, AD&D, tuition reimbursement, and more.
