We invest in our employees and build relationships that last.Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available for a Structural Engineering Supervisor in our Washington, DC; Maryland; or Virginia office locations.Responsibilities IncludeLeading structural design for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, sign structures, structures condition inspections, reports, studies, and specificationsPreparing/reviewing designs, specifications, and cost estimates for highway transportation structuresPreparing construction documents including stamping finalized plans for highway transportation structuresPerforming load ratings/analysisSupervising, managing, and mentoring staffEnsuring structural group and Mead & Hunt policies and procedures are followedPreparing task and contract technical and price proposalsManaging project and contracts deliverables, budget and schedulesLeading business development opportunities in the Mid-Atlantic regionOther civil engineering projects in other locations as neededSome travel will be required.The Successful Candidate Must Have All Of The FollowingBachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or universityAt least 3 years of relevant civil engineering experienceORAssociate degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or universityAt least 5 years of relevant civil engineering experienceORIf no degree, must have at least 7 years of relevant civil engineering experience.The Ideal Candidate Will Have Any/all Of The FollowingTwelve (12) years of industry-related experience.PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in Maryland within 6 months of hire.Certified in Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges.Bridge/Structural design experience including LRFD concrete and steel design preferred.Structural design software (LARS, Merlin-Dash, STAAD, etc.) preferred.Well versed in AASHTO and Maryland Standards.MicroStation and Auto-Cad Experience.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Leading structural engineering projectsProject managementMentoring project staffBusiness development tasks (client relations, proposal development, etc.)If you have strong communication and organizational skills, are self-motivated, and can work well both independently and as part of a team, complete the online application process for this job posting at www.meadhunt.com/careers.Mead & Hunt proudly offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, paid sick leave, parental leave, a 401K plan with a generous company match, life and disability insurance, and an employee assistance program.Mead & Hunt will not sponsor a visa (H-1B, etc.) for this position.Salary Range: $135,000 to $200,000 annually - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set, or location.All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply and will receive consideration for employment without regard to protected veteran status, disability, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.
