Job Summary:
The Data Engineer supports the design of technology and low voltage systems that help modern buildings operate, communicate, and stay connected. In this role, you will work alongside engineers, architects, clients, contractors, and vendors to design systems such as structured cabling, audiovisual, electronic security, cellular DAS, and other technology-driven building systems. You will gain hands-on experience across a variety of project types while developing your technical design, coordination, and project delivery skills.
Responsibilities:
Design and document low voltage and technology systems, including structured cabling, audiovisual (A/V), electronic security, cellular DAS, nurse call, and related building systems
Conduct field investigations and document existing site and system conditions
Develop system layouts, device placement, infrastructure, and pathway designs
Prepare and revise design and construction documents using REVIT/CAD and related design platforms
Assist with equipment and technology selection and development of project specifications
Coordinate designs with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and other engineering disciplines
Participate in client meetings and coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, vendors, and other project partners
Support project schedules, deliverables, and document revisions throughout the project lifecycle
Apply applicable codes, standards, industry best practices, and system integration concepts to project designs
Continue developing technical expertise through training in evolving low voltage technologies, codes, standards, REVIT, and related design tools
Minimum Criteria:
Bachelor of Science degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering
Prior internship experience with Telios' Dallas Low-Voltage team
