Estimating Engineer (Riverton)
Boccard Life Sciences, industrial integrator, located in 35 countries, designs, manufactures, assembles, and installs process solutions for its customers worldwide in the Food & Ingredients, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, and Brewing Industries.Estimating EngineerAs part of the Estimating Team, the Estimating Engineer will collaborate with the Estimating Manager in the preparation of proposals in compliance with the customer requests and the internal Boccard Management System to develop the business unit.Position FunctionsParticipate in the reviews of entry data received from customers and/or collected in the field. Participate in bid meetings and walkthroughs.Help to identify similar projects quoted/executed in the past, for applicable references, as well as the risks of being able to manage them during the proposal development process.Support the Estimating Manager and Process Experts to develop technical solutions (P&IDs) compliant with the requirements and entry data from the requests for quote.Prepare technical specifications for the proposed design, and inquiry suppliers to find the right equipment technically and financially (hand in hand with the purchasing department).Draft the costing spreadsheets from the data collected (prices lists, vendor quotes, benchmark ratios, staffing plans, risk analysis, etc.).Draft the technical description for the proposal following established templates.Participate in the offer review prior to submittal.Participate in technical alignments with the customer.Requirements & ExperienceBachelor of Sciences in Engineering (Food Sciences, Biotechnology, or Industrial Engineering) and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a related field preferred or a minimum of five (5) years of proven experience.Skills and AbilitiesGood knowledge in fluid mechanics, fluid thermodynamics and associated processes (pumping, heating, filtering...)Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and MS ProjectIntermediate knowledge in AutoCAD for 2D drawing (P&ID – Basic Layout)Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalFlexible and dependableExcellent people skills and high attention to detailTravel: up to 10% required, depending on projects
