The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will be in Vigor’s corporate finance group. The role develops and prepares analyses and tools to monitor the operating and financial performance of Vigor & its affiliates. You will work on cross-functional teams to understand the business and its trends and be able to explain the story beneaththe numbers. Please include a cover letter with your resume and application.Essential Functions And Major Responsibilities(This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job’s overall responsibilities.)Manages the FP&A staff & is responsible for day-to-day maintenance of FP&A reporting, analysis & projects.Review forecasts & financial analysis across the company, including sister companies. Ensures forecasts quality & consistency across the enterprise.Support the management team as a financial resource in various weekly, monthly & annual analysis requirements.Assist in the review of monthly projects EAC’s.Review month-end revenue recognition, contract schedule, and overhead reports. Ensure differences are reconciled and understood.Oversee the annual budget process through project planning & communication across the enterprise.Create PowerPoint presentations for operational reviews, Board of Director meetings and similar events.Coordinate with the corporate accounting & finance organization on reporting, analysis & projectsAd hoc analysis, as requested.Job ScopeThe Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will be in Vigor’s corporate finance group. In this position you will have a high degree of exposure to Vigor’s senior management.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis role has 6 staff directly reporting to it, along with close interaction with various managers and staff throughout the business unit to obtain necessary inputs and information in executing its own deliverables.Interpersonal ContactsInteract on a day-to-day basis with Vigor management, including the CEO & CFO, IT department, finance and operations colleagues in the business units, and others.Knowledge Skills And AbilitiesSubstantial experience in financial modelingProficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, pivot tablesExperience with enterprise level ERP systems and BI toolsAbility to perform in depth analyses and reviews of large data sets from multiple sourcesAnalytical ability to research problem areas and make conclusionsAbility to deliver results in a team environmentConfidence to ask questions, intelligence to know which questions to askEducation And/Or ExperienceBA/BS Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is required (may be substituted with general business degree and appropriate level of experience).MBA or related Master’s degree is helpful but not required.Five to Seven (5-7) years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities.Financial modeling and analysis, budgeting, and/or accounting, preferably in a project based environment.Experience with government accounting is a plus but not required.Demonstrated ability to manage financial performance of projects, analyze business problems, and communicate results of analysis.Advanced spreadsheet experience required.Certificates, Licenses And RegistrationsNone required, but any relevant certifications are helpful.Physical DemandsWork is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity in the shipyard. The person may be need to work more than 8 hours a day and/or on weekends. Good finger, hand and wrist dexterity required for extensive computer operations is required. He/she may spend extended periods of sitting in front of a computer terminal entering/manipulating data. The person may be required to lift up to 20 pounds. There may be out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 10% of the time with notice.
