Machinist/ Operator
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our aerospace manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining, blueprint reading, and mechanical fabrication. This role involves operating various machining equipment, programming CNC machines, and ensuring precision in all manufactured parts. The Machinist will play a vital role in maintaining high-quality standards and supporting production efficiency within our facility. Candidates with experience in CAD software, GD&T, and manufacturing processes are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Accountable for the setup, operation, maintenance and inspection of CNC machining and tube bending equipment used to manufacture aerospace components
Perform all machining, tube bending, and inspection activities in accordance with ISO 9001/ AS9100 requirements.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing
Set up tooling, fixtures, and calibration tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for precise measurements
Conduct visual inspections and detailed inspections using the Hexagon Absolute Arm.
Ensure all parts meet quality standards through the use of precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques
Skills
Proven experience with CNC programming and operation, along with tube bending proficiency
Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawings
Proficiency with CAD software
Ability to use precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes including machining, welding, tooling setup, and power tools usage
Basic math skills for calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, and machine settings
Experience with lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency
Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment is a plus
