Job Description
As an Automotive Sales Representative at Riverhead Dodge, you will be the first point of contact for many customers who are actively searching for new or pre-owned vehicles. You will use phone, text, email, and digital communication tools to connect with buyers, understand their needs, and guide them through the purchasing process.This is a fast-paced, customer-focused sales role where communication, follow-up, and relationship building directly impact your success and income. Key ResponsibilitiesRespond to inbound leads from website inquiries, online listings, phone calls, and marketing campaignsConduct outbound follow-ups with potential customers to maintain engagement and move deals forwardIdentify customer needs, preferences, and budgets to recommend appropriate new and used vehiclesDeliver clear, engaging, and persuasive vehicle presentations via phone, text, and emailMaintain strong knowledge of inventory, features, pricing, incentives, and financing optionsBuild trust and long-term relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referralsWork closely with the dealership sales team to ensure seamless customer handoffsAccurately document all customer interactions and follow-ups in CRM systemsMeet or exceed individual and team sales goals and performance targetsProvide a high level of customer service throughout the entire buying process Daily ActivitiesReviewing new leads and follow-up opportunities in the CRM systemMaking outbound calls and responding to inbound customer inquiriesSending personalized texts and emails to prospective buyersMatching customers with appropriate vehicle options based on their needsFollowing up consistently to move customers through the sales funnelCoordinating with the sales floor team to confirm availability and close dealsSupporting customers through appointment scheduling or purchase completion Preferred QualificationsEntry-level candidates welcome; prior sales experience is a plus but not requiredExperience in customer service, retail, call center, or inside sales preferredBilingual preferred not requiredHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredStrong verbal and written communication skillsComfortable communicating via phone, text, and emailAbility to learn product knowledge quickly and apply it in conversationsStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple leadsPositive attitude, strong work ethic, and goal-oriented mindsetBasic computer skills and willingness to learn CRM tools Skills for SuccessStrong communication and active listeningAbility to build rapport quickly with customersConfidence handling objections and closing conversationsStrong follow-up discipline and time managementCompetitive, self-motivated mindsetAbility to adapt communication style (especially helpful for bilingual candidates) Training & DevelopmentRiverhead Dodge provides full onboarding and ongoing support, including:Vehicle product training (new and used inventory)Sales process and dealership workflow trainingCRM and lead management systemsCustomer communication and follow-up strategiesClosing techniques and sales conversion trainingWe are committed to helping motivated individuals grow into high-performing automotive professionals.
