Lead Infant Teacher
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Infant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering developmental growth in infants and toddlers, creating a nurturing and engaging classroom environment. This role involves leading curriculum development, implementing age-appropriate activities, and ensuring the safety and well-being of young children. The Lead Infant Teacher will serve as a role model for staff and provide guidance to assistant teachers, promoting best practices in early childhood education.
Duties
Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to infants and toddlers, incorporating literacy education, physical activity, and social-emotional development.
Manage daily classroom activities, ensuring a safe, clean, and stimulating environment conducive to early learning.
Utilize classroom management techniques to promote positive behavior and support individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
Conduct assessments of children's progress through observations and standardized testing methods; adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate developmental milestones, behavioral concerns, and progress updates effectively.
Lead curriculum development initiatives that integrate Montessori principles or other educational philosophies suitable for early childhood settings.
Supervise assistant teachers and support staff, providing mentorship in classroom management, lesson planning, and child welfare practices.
Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, safety standards, and childcare policies while maintaining high-quality care standards.
Experience
Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school environments is essential.
Demonstrated expertise in early childhood education topics such as childhood development, toddler care, literacy education, behavior management, and classroom management.
Experience with curriculum development across various educational domains including math, science (early intervention), physical education, and special education needs.
Familiarity with Montessori methods or other specialized teaching approaches is preferred.
Proven ability to design engaging lesson plans and utilize teaching strategies that support diverse learning styles.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families, staff, and community partners.
