This position will maintain and demonstrate proficiency with epidemiologic principles and mechanisms of endemic and epidemic risks of infection, actively participates in the execution of the Infection Prevention & Control Plan for organization, obtaining direction to maintain structure and systems needed to identify and meet organizational needs. Additionally, this position requires skilled communication to work effectively with various employees and groups to gather pertinent practice information and implement necessary changes. Assessments will be performed and conducted to provide appropriate follow-up to reduce the risk of infection and improve patient safety. The Infection Preventionist is responsible for executing the hospital infection surveillance, prevention, and control activities and practices by conducting activities and actions known to be effective in reducing infections. This includes making recommendations, conducting surveillance, and maintaining hospital-wide infection surveillance, prevention, and control policies.
