Preschool Teacher
POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced, caring and highly engaged Preschool Teacher who is passionate about children and is creative in their approach to creating developmentally age-appropriate curriculum. The Preschool Teacher will collaborate with their peers to create, implement and maintain the curriculum for the appropriate age group(s). They will develop and maintain parent relationships, collaborate with colleagues, and take part in continuous professional development, which ensures a quality learning environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Engages in daily conversation with the children
· Provides appropriate supervision for children at all times
· Uses and maintains a Teacher Plan book for daily lessons/activities in accordance with the policies of the school (including making them readily available during staff evaluations/observations throughout the year)
· Plans, maintains and implements developmentally age-appropriate curriculum in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the school
· Facilitate various daily activities for children including songs, games and storytelling
· Plans and implements weekly games such as “farmer and the dell”; “duck, duck goose”; “red light, green light”; “Simon says”
· Meets the needs of the individual child with concerns for his/her interests, abilities, talents, learning style and rate of learning
· Considers the individual child in relationship to his/her cultural and socio-economic background
· Treats each child with dignity and respect
· Helps each child to become aware of his/her role as an integral member or a group
· Encourages children to interact with each other to develop social skills
· Maintains inventory system for classroom materials and supplies
· Promote positive discipline practices that support problem solving and conflict resolution consistent with the staff handbook and EEC standards, rules and regulations
· Communicates student progress with parents/guardians on a regular basis
· Attends staff meetings as required once per month
· Maintains a clean and orderly classroom environment suitable for learning and consistent with health and safety standards
· Plans activities on a daily basis must include the standards as defined by our state regulations
· Meets with and is available to parents
· Holds conferences once per year or as needed
· Maintains a safe and orderly drop-off and dismissal of children
· Meets all course and health requirements based on state regulations
· Works cooperatively with directors and peers
REQUIREMENTS
General Requirements
· Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
· Have a suitable Background Check
· CPR & First Aid Certified
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 40 per week
