Ideal candidates bring experience in mid-stage fintech, lending/payments, or financial services—and have a strong bias toward building, automating, and modernizing finance processes. You will report directly to the CFO and take full ownership of daily accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and key accounting infrastructure decisions.This role is well-suited for someone who wants to own accounting, improve systems, and grow into a broader hybrid finance role over time—including FP&A exposure, financial modeling, and supporting key strategic decisions.What You’ll DoLead daily accounting operations with a high degree of accuracy, accountability, and speedDrive a disciplined, efficient month-end close—including schedules, reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)Champion system modernization:Evaluate, select, and implement a new ERP as we scale beyond QuickBooksIdentify automation opportunities across accounting workflowsBuild the foundation for a more efficient, tech-enabled finance functionOwn key areas of accounting: revenue recognition & management, cost of sales, AP, cash management, debt accounts, and payroll oversightPrepare monthly reporting packages, tie-outs, and analytical schedules for management and investorsConduct technical accounting research and ensure GAAP complianceSupport audit preparation, tax processes, and regulatory reportingCollaborate cross-functionally to improve processes, eliminate manual work, and clarify deliverables & dependenciesProduce ad-hoc analyses that inform business performance and strategic decisionsSupport FP&A activities when time allows (forecasting, modeling, budgeting)Ability to be in the weeds and details while also able to be high levelYou’re a Great Fit If You Have:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; MBA a plus10+ years of audit/public accounting or blended accounting experienceCPA requiredStrong GAAP knowledge and technical accounting capabilitiesExperience in fintech accounting, lending/payments reconciliation, and transaction-based or usage-based business modelsHands-on QuickBooks experience (and ideally prior ERP implementation or migration experience)A mindset focused on systems, automation, and continuous improvementExceptional communication, rigorous attention to detail, high integrity, and dependabilityExperience leading accounting teams or third-party providersInterest in expanding beyond accounting into FP&A and financial modeling, as well as contributing to financial decision-makingStrong Excel/Google Sheets experience, including an intermediate level or above of formulasYou’re an All-Star Fit If You Have:Prior experience implementing a new ERP or standing up a scaled finance tech stackDocumented process improvement successExperience creating policies, procedures, and scalable accounting frameworksExperience with big data environmentsFP&A or modeling experienceTax experienceOur BenefitsFully Remote WorkplaceUnlimited VacationFull Healthcare Benefits401K OfferedCompensation Range: $150K - $180K
