This role ensures all shipments are packaged securely, labeled correctly, and shipped on time to meet customer expectations while maintaining quality and safety standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPack and crate products according to company standards to ensure safe transitBuild custom crates and use appropriate packaging materials to protect fragile or high-value itemsPrepare and process domestic shipments using LTL and parcel carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS)Accurately label shipments and verify shipping documentationWeigh, measure, and record shipment details for carrier compliance and cost accuracyCoordinate with shipping office or supervisors to prioritize daily shipmentsLoad and stage shipments for carrier pickupInspect finished goods prior to shipment to ensure quality and accuracyMaintain inventory of packaging materials and notify leadership of shortagesFollow all safety procedures, including proper use of tools and equipmentKeep shipping and staging areas clean and organizedAssist with cycle counts, inventory movement, or material handling as neededQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required1 year of experience in shipping, warehouse, or manufacturing environment is required1-3 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferredExperience with LTL and parcel shipping processes strongly preferredAbility to read and interpret packing instructions, work orders, and shipping documentsBasic computer skills; experience with shipping systems or ERP (SAP a plus)Strong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlinesPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs (occasionally more with assistance)Frequent standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shiftAbility to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment (if certified)Preferred SkillsExperience building crates or custom packaging solutionsFamiliarity with freight class, dimensions, and shipping cost impactsKnowledge of basic carrier requirements for LTL and parcel shipments
