Staff AccountantThe Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting core accounting operations across multiple operating companies. This role focuses primarily on execution of day-to-day and month-end accounting activities, while also performing analysis and preparing key financial data to support management decision-making. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Finance team, internal leadership, and external advisors to ensure accurate financial records, strong controls, and timely reporting across entities.
Essential Functions:
Record, track, and reconcile revenue and expenses for multiple operating entities.
Create invoices in a timely and accurate manner and assist in past due collections.
Assist in maintaining accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and reconciliations.
Answer and respond to all customer, vendor, and internal inquiries on a timely basis.
Review and code credit card transactions and expense reports in accordance with company policies.
Assist with the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and generating internal reports.
Maintain internal fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation tracking.
Assist with intercompany transactions and allocations to ensure accurate reporting across entities.
Prepare and assist in creating internal and external financial reports that reflect overall business performance and financial position.
Meet with department leadership to review and explain internal financial reports, variances, and trends.
Analyze and interpret general ledger data to identify discrepancies, trends, or issues requiring follow-up.
Assist with cash management activities, including monitoring cash balances, supporting cash forecasts, and reconciling bank accounts.
Maintain organized and accurate accounting records in compliance with internal controls and generally accepted accounting principles, demonstrating a strong desire to continuously advance understanding of accounting theory.
Assist with the preparation and filing of various sales, use, and income tax returns in coordination with external tax advisors.
Participate in special projects, including accounting research related to new or proposed transactions and ensuring proper accounting treatment is implemented.
Uphold accounting systems, controls, and procedures that ensure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of financial data, while also looking for opportunities to improve efficiencies.
Represent the organization professionally and handle sensitive financial information with a high degree of discretion.
Perform other duties and operational reporting tasks as assigned to support the Finance team.

Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Minimum of two (2) years of prior accounting experience.
Strong understanding of business and accounting principles.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience working with Accounting Software; experience with Workday a strong plus.
