Electrical Engineer

Actalent is seeking an Experienced and Skilled Electrical Engineer with at least 5+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering and experience in a heavy industrial setting. Description pertains to two job functions this person can fulfill -- not expected to meet all these requirements: *Responsibility – E&I Design* * Perform sketches or mark-up existing drawings as required to communicate design intent. * Perform field work * inspecting plant conditions * verifying existing plant conditions * Routing tray, conduit, or cable * layout new equipment for most efficient use of space and resources * Preliminary design for installation of transformers, MCCs, motors, instruments, and controls * Specify and obtain quotes for electrical hardware * Specify and obtain quotes for instrumentation/controls hardware * Write controls narratives * Design grounding. * Develop cable schedules * Coordinate with other disciplines as required to produce projects with the lowest total installed cost possible * Check design work for accuracy and ensure compliance with project requirements * Be primary company resource for design/troubleshooting of power systems * Design loop sheets, elementaries, system architecture, and other wiring diagrams * Support mill checkout of electrical systems *Expectations* * Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients * Lead scope development efforts by interfacing with clients as needed. * Communicate scope needs to designers or other engineers * Obtain quotes for engineering, equipment, material, and services * Develop bid packages, lead bid meetings, and evaluate bids * Coordinate project safety, timing, and other issues * Lead checkout and startup activities * Control documents generated during the project. Issue documents to client for permanent storage *Must have:* * Electrical Engineer (no PE required) * 5-8 years of experience (heavy industrial preferred) Intangible: "not a job you can hide, team player, eager to learn, take ownership, relate to people, strong communication skills." *Things to know* * Established, small business (started in 2016, 30 employees). * We hire people strategically for the long-term, not based on busy seasons or projects.
