Job SummaryUnder the guidance of the Team Lead, canvassers will actively connect with underserved communities, collect information and advocate for the goals and initiatives of the campaign. Canvassers hold a significant role in grassroots campaigns and efforts to engage with the community. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Door-to-door outreach, Community Education, engage with community members regarding the goals and initiatives of DHF and the current campaign Educate community members on ballot measures, causes, and initiatives supported by DHF, and encourage them to mobilize by taking action Example, attending city and county community meetings Data collection, record information accurately during outreach for reporting purposes including numbers of doors knocked on, conversations held, and materials distributed Meet daily and weekly campaign goals. Provide detailed daily reports. Adhere to ethical guidelines and DHF policies and procedures Be adaptable to adjusting your strategy based on responses from the community Knowledge Skills & AbilitiesStrong communication skills Demonstrate empathy for communities Commitment to social justice Proficiency in Microsoft Applications, including word and excel Ability to work evenings and weekends Required QualificationsPrevious campaign or surveyor experience a plus Self-motivated and detailed-oriented Strong communication and listening skills Punctual, reliable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Bilingual English/Spanish a plus Additional RequirementsAvailability Requirement: Flexible (20-25 hours a week) schedule is subject to change Physical stamina, must be able to walk for 4.5 hours Ability to maintain high level of energy and positive attitude
