Right Price.Job Title: Material HandlerLocation: 10015 Waples Ct, San Diego, CA 92121 (Onsite) Duration: 06+ Months Contract Pay Rate: $20-22/Hr on W2 Shift: 2nd shift - 3 pm to 11:30 pm Monday- Friday Note: Steel toed boots required from day first.Job DescriptionSummary Of Position: Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for processing daily distribution tasks specific to loading, unloading, moving/transferring, and transacting materials to support in-plant logistics. Individual must be attentive to detail and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position also requires the person to be able to accurately complete transactions and fulfill requests in timely manner for the receipt, delivery, and shipment of all goods. These functions include operating in a cGMP environment and adhering to strong inventory management practices.Essential FunctionsPerforms manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment, and suppliesPerforms physical counts of inventoryTransports materials between departments, facilities, and/or production floorTransacts inventory/material movements in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with strong inventory control practicesSelects and transacts materials for work ordersAssures the accurate counting, staging and storage of materials and suppliesOperates warehouse vehicles such sit down, stand up and side-loader forklifts, pallet jacks, and related material handling equipment in narrow aisles and cold storage facilitiesFollows all standard operation procedures and GMP guidelinesAdheres to all safety training and instructions and has knowledge of materials and safetyParticipates in the effective training of other employeesCarries out duties in compliance with established business policiesInteractionsInteracts professionally with all levels of warehouse staff. Facilitates team interactions and communicates with department team leaders and supervisors. Actively supports Quidel's team efforts. Contributes successfully in a team-based work environment, participating in meetings, reviews, team huddles, and metric reviewsWork EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics are representative of a manufacturing, laboratory, and warehouse environment and includes handling of viral and bacterial hazards, potentially hazardous chemicals, as well as infectious or potentially infectious bodily fluids, tissues and samples.
