Founding Engineer - Full Stack (Front End bias)

An early-stage, venture-backed technology company is seeking a Full Stack Founding Engineer (Front-End Focused) to help build and scale a modern AI-powered operational platformGiven it's a founding role our client are willing to offer more than 1% equity, and serious opportunity to become head of engineering as they scale.Some headlines about the companies current stateLaunched about 7 months ago$3+ million in current50+ major customers (well known brands: Fishwife, Immi, Ghia, Sanzo)Raising Series A soon, end of Q2Equity expected to ~5x in ~5 months post-close6 staff currently but looking for grow by 4 engineering head count in the next few monthsPlease carefully read the requirements of the role as the small team represents an excellent opportunity for ownership and growth but also requires a high bar of entry.This is a high-agency role suited to engineers who enjoy owning problems end-to-end, working closely with customers, and shipping meaningful product features from concept through to production.While the ideal profile is a Full Stack Engineer the right individual needs to have a strong Front End bias, whilst also be comfortable working across the stack when required.Frontend-Focused EngineersFor engineers with a frontend bias, strong product intuition is essential. The team is looking for individuals who care deeply about user experience, visual design, and how software feels to use.You'll be expected to:Create intuitive, polished user interfaces.Understand what makes a great user experience rather than simply implementing requirements.Take ownership of the complete feature journey, ensuring frontend and backend components work seamlessly together.Develop a deep understanding of customer workflows and industry-specific challenges to inform design decisions.Your BackgroundThe expectation is typically around 5+ years of software engineering experience, although exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered, particularly those with a strong frontend portfolio and evidence of building high-quality products independently.Experience with modern frontend technologies such as Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS and building high-quality product experiencesCandidates need proven high-growth SaaS experience (B2B/B2C) rather than solely early-stage or consulting roles.Candidates with recognized credentials or tenure at well-regarded companies to ensure demonstrated product growth and maturity.CS, math, or similar technical degree from a strong universityYou must have built scalable product platforms & infrastructure, including building features or products from 0-to-1 with significant ownership.
