All educators must be excited about working with diverse populations, and eager to collaborate with colleagues.Essential Functions:Adhere to the Connecticut Code of Professional ResponsibilityEnsures safety of studentsImplements the Windham Board of Education and administrative policies, rules, regulations and directivesManage the classroom and individual student behavior to maintain an advantageous learning environmentPrepares lesson plans that achieve clear objectives, uses appropriate techniques, and serves the needs of all learners in the classroomMaintains accurate and complete records as requiredAttends parent/teacher conferencesAssess student learning on continual basis and identifies areas of intervention if neededFollow the scope and sequence of the instructional program as defined and approved by the Windham Board of EducationMaintains respect for confidential informationKeeps parents up-to-date of student progress through use of interim reports, report cards, and/or conferencesDesign instruction to meet the needs of all students through both individual and small group settings as neededDesign clear and specific learning assessmentsMaintain a positive learning environment that encourages open communication between the teacher and learnerMaintain a positive school community image that encourages ethical student behaviorMaintain ongoing communication with parentsOther duties as assigned by Administrator and/or SuperintendentOther Duties and Responsibilities:Assist in the selection of textbooks, equipment and other education materialsEstablish and maintain professional relationshipsParticipate in professional learning by attending seminars and workshops to improve instructional practice and positively affect student achievementQualifications/Certificates:Bilingual(Spanish/English) preferred.Bachelor's Degree required.Must be able to work with diverse populationRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to foster and facilitate learning and classroom managementAbility to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writingEffective, active listening skillsAbility to work effectively with othersOrganizational and problem solving skillsExcellent public relations skillsDays: Monday - FridaySalary: Daily Rate, Non-Union, No Benefitsclick to Apply at:WindhamPublicSchoolsWINDHAM IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
