This internship is designed to provide exposure to managing smaller, less complex scopes of work, while also assisting with day-to-day coordination on larger projects. Interns will gain experience with repeatable project tasks, project documentation, subcontractor coordination, and construction workflows, building a strong foundation in project management.Roles/ResponsibilitiesAt New Project Contract AwardAssist in gathering vendor compliance documentation such as Certificates of Insurance, Schedule of Values, W-9s, and E-VerifySupport setup of project information in Procore, including contacts, drawings, and specificationsAssist with drafting and organizing subcontract documentationAttend project kickoff meetings and support documentation of meeting minutesDuring DesignAttend design review meetings and assist in documenting meeting minutes in ProcoreSupport coordination of design updates with subcontractorsObserve and assist in identifying potential impacts to cost and schedule based on design changesDuring ConstructionAssist with processing submittals and reviewing basic submissions for contract complianceSupport development and maintenance of project schedules in coordination with the Operations TeamAssist in generating and tracking Requests for Information (RFIs)Observe and support documentation of differing site conditions and change eventsAssist in coordinating subcontractor pricing for change proposalsSupport preparation of weekly project reports and updatesAssist with monthly job cost tracking and budget reviewsParticipate in weekly job meetings and coordination effortsSupport review and processing of subcontractor invoicesAssist in documenting completed work and supporting monthly payment applicationsObserve and support implementation of Quality Control and Safety PlansParticipate in job site visits to monitor progress, safety, and qualityAssist in identifying issues and supporting development of solutions to maintain schedule and budget Skills RequiredDemonstrates proactive approaches to problem solvingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHighly organized, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and detail orientedAbility to analyze and report dataProficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel Spreadsheet proficiency Skills Preferred (not required)Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or related field or equivalent work experience in Construction OperationsCertifications: OSHA 30, CPR, First Aid, USACE QCMMinimum 1 year of related experienceExperience with Construction Management Software such as Procore Mental QualificationsAble to learn new tasksAble to maintain focusAble to complete assigned tasks without direct supervisionAble to communicate effectively, both orally and writtenAble to interact with a variety of individualsAble to understand, remember, and follow verbal and written instructionsAble to perform in situations requiring speed, deadlines, or productivity quotas.Able to maintain regular attendance and be punctualHave strong reading comprehensionAssessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned Physical QualificationsAble to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc.Able to utilize construction personnel hoistsAble to navigate work areas that are under constructionSpecific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, peripheral, depth perception, and focusRepeating motions that may include wrist, hands, and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, and controlsOperate machinery and/or power toolsOperating motor vehicle or heavy equipmentCommunicate with others to exchange informationSedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing for long periods of timeAbility to climb, maintain balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlLight to Medium work that includes moving objects between 20 - 50 pounds Travel is required within the United States; this role is both office and job site based. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours, but there are occasions when extended work hours are necessary.
