Director of Accounting

Working on a Controller search with a high-growth fintech platform. Role is fully remote, with a preference for someone based in the NYC area.This is a true ownership seat reporting to the CFO, covering corporate accounting, consolidations, SEC reporting, and audit. Team is lean, so they need someone hands-on who’s comfortable operating at both a strategic and day-to-day level.Looking for a strong public + industry foundation with experience in a multi-entity environment and exposure to public company reporting. Fintech or digital asset exposure is a plus, but not required.Key Responsibilities:Oversee corporate accounting operations, including general ledger, consolidations, and close processesLead preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with applicable standardsEnsure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closeMaintain internal controls and support audit processesPartner cross-functionally to support financial planning and operational initiativesDrive process improvements and system optimizationSupport M&A activities and provide technical accounting guidanceBuild and lead a high-performing accounting teamRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience with leadership responsibilityStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP; IFRS familiarity is a plusExperience with SEC reporting (10-K and 10-Q) strongly preferred
