Job Description TRL11 is a venture backed deep tech / defence tech startup bringing cutting-edge video technology to Aerospace applications. Based in Irvine, CA, we are seeking highly passionate, skilled and experienced Embedded Software Engineers with expertise in Linux BSP, device driver development, and debugging to join our dynamic and innovative team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining embedded software solutions for our cutting-edge video products. Your primary focus will be on Linux-based systems, device driver development, including for custom hardware, and ensuring the overall system stability and performance. Join our team and play a crucial role in shaping the future of Human Space Exploration and US National Security.RequirementsResponsibilities:Design and develop embedded software for Linux-based systems, including device drivers and kernel modulesBuild application-level software for video processing, encoding, and streamingImplement APIs and communication protocols (REST, gRPC, MQTT, WebSockets)Design scalable software architectures and participate in technical design decisionsManage CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and automated testing frameworksDevelop containerization strategies using Docker for deploymentCollaborate with cross-functional teams and conduct code reviewsDebug and optimize system performance across the full software stackWrite scripts (Bash/Python) and C/C++ code for automation and application developmentDocument software components and maintain technical specificationsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field3-5 years experience in embedded Linux development with shipped productsStrong C/C++ programming skills and proficiency in Python and BashExperience with device drivers, kernel modules, and Linux internalsKnowledge of networking protocols, API design (REST, gRPC), and video streaming technologiesProficiency with Git, Docker, and CI/CD toolsExperience with Agile methodologies and fast-paced environmentsExcellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skillsNice to Have:TS/SCI or Secret ClearanceBenefitsFast paced, energetic startup culture, where you'll learn a lot, have great impact, and have fun doing itBase salary $100- $150k, depending on experienceBonus, 401k, Health Care Plan (Medical)Unlimited Paid Time Off (with prior approval), for Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays, Maternity, PaternityPossible Stock Option Plan participation, based on performance and tenure.
