This position supports the College's mission by maintaining a clean, functional, and well-operating environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on campus buildings and systems Troubleshoot and repair issues related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building infrastructure Complete assigned work orders accurately and in a timely manner using the College's work order system Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems to reduce downtime Inspect facilities and identify maintenance needs or safety concerns Assist with setup and breakdown of campus events, including furniture and equipment moves Support seasonal operations such as snow removal and grounds-related tasks as needed Coordinate with external contractors and vendors when required Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and orderly condition Comply with all College policies, procedures, and safety regulations Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies as required Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field Working knowledge of at least one skilled trade (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry) Ability to read and interpret basic technical documents, manuals, and work orders Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Preferred QualificationsTechnical or trade school certification Experience working in a higher education or institutional setting EPA certification or other relevant trade certifications Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills and a customer-service mindset Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Physical DemandsAbility to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a variety of environments including residential, academic, and outdoor campus settings.
