Our Central Bi-Products facility in Estherville, IA collects and transforms porcine from meat processing facilities into high quality-feed ingredients and other consumer and industrial products.Our Estherville, IA location is seeking a 3rd shift Plant Lead! We offer a starting wage of $24.68+Hr., along with a $1/Hr. night shift differential, scheduled increases, and a complete benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, paid holidays, 401K, and so much more!Schedule3rd Shift: Monday-Friday, 12:00am (midnight)-8:00amTraining will be completed on day shift during the first several months of employment.Additional hours may be possible on a required or voluntary basis during the week or weekendAreas of AccountabilityAll areas of accountability to be delivered with GRIT - our values of Generosity, Relationships, Integrity, and TeamworkProduction Efficiencies Mentorship & Training Safety & Quality ComplianceEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership, direction, and monitor the work activities of all assigned personnel to meet daily production objectives in a safe and timely mannerMonitor and evaluate incoming raw material to ensure product qualityProvide training to new/existing employees and ensure all facility equipment is operated correctly based on machine-specific SOPsPerform basic troubleshooting and communicate any accidents, threats, or downtime to leadershipEnsure all necessary paperwork is completed and being used according to SOPsAssist in coordinating maintenance into the production scheduleEnsure all areas are safe, clean, and organized throughout shift to maintain safety and product qualityPerform any given job in assigned department, when necessaryWork safely, comply and enforce all company and regulatory safety/environmental policies, practices, and proceduresMaintain regular and predictable on-site attendanceSituations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. Employees may be requested to work additional hours and/or accommodate a heavier than normal workload.Qualifications1-3 years' experience in feed/food manufacturing; prior leadership experience, highly preferredAdvanced written and verbal communication; bilingual skills (English & Spanish), a plusHigh level of professionalism, confidentiality, interpersonal skills, and attention to detailStrong sense of initiative and problem-solving with the ability to manage time and deadlines with little supervisionAbility to accurately count and complete basic math operationsRead and comprehend signs, labels, warnings, and company SOPs; legibly record data and write reports and correspondenceExperience safely operating equipment such as skid steers and forklifts, preferred; ability to pass in-house certificationsUnderstanding and operate basic computer technologyWillingness to work varying shifts or extra hours on short notice to fill in for an absent co-worker, accommodate a heavier than normal workload, or to assist with special projectsAbility to work in a facility that processes PigsPhysical RequirementsStand up to 100% of the workdayConsistently lift up to 30 pounds from waist level to/from floor; occasionally lift up to 75 poundsConsistently push and/or pull heavy objectsConsistently bend at the waist and/or kneesFrequently climb stairs and/or ladders, up to 40 ftAbility to work safely in wet/slippery conditions and hold/cold environments
