Job TitleCommunity Economic Development Staff MemberJob DescriptionThis is a developmental position established to gain experience and knowledge of community economic development practices in order to create stronger rural communities.Incumbent serves as a key member of the State Director's staff and is responsible for encouraging greater use of Community Economic Development (CED) practices in order to enhance the overall impact of RD investments.Monitors significant economic development matters which may impact rural places and RD through research and liaison activities with federal, state, and local government, non-profits, and other private sources.Develops budget projections to obtain necessary funding to support Community Economic Development (CED) efforts, in collaboration with the state's RD staff.Promotes the use of CED practices for rural communities and rural economics diversification through written and oral presentations.Facilitates information sharing among public and private sectors to increase awareness of loan and grant programs and incentives for business development in rural areas.
