Based in New York City, this senior individual contributor will play a central role in developing and executing integrated communications strategies that reflect the company's global scale, design-forward identity, and community-centered mission.Reporting directly to the Global Head of PR & Communications, the VP will manage high-profile media relationships, support executive positioning, and partner closely with teams across the organization to enhance and protect the Jamestown brand and portfolio of properties. Jamestown's current and previous projects include One Times Square and Chelsea Market in New York, Industry City in Brooklyn, Ponce City Market in Atlanta, Ghirardelli Square and Levi's Plaza in San Francisco, and Groot Handelsgebouw in Rotterdam.Essential Job FunctionsDevelop and implement comprehensive PR and communications strategies that support Jamestown's corporate brand, portfolio properties, and key business initiatives across key marketsServe as a senior communications partner to the Global Head of PR & Communications and cross-functional leadership, contributing to media strategy, message development, and reputational positioningBuild and deepen Jamestown's national and global media relationships, securing high-impact coverage in top-tier business, real estate, design, and lifestyle outletsDrive earned media strategy at the corporate level, overseeing major announcements, corporate narratives, and portfolio-wide storytelling that elevates Jamestown's profile with investors, partners, and the publicLead communications planning and execution for marquee initiatives—including landmark property openings, major capital events, strategic acquisitions, and high-visibility leasing announcementsSupport executive visibility and thought leadership initiatives, including speaking opportunities, industry conference participation, media coaching, and content development for senior leadersManage relationships with external PR agency partners across the U.S., Europe, and Latin America; ensure strategic alignment, brand consistency, and accountability to resultsSupport crisis communications planning and response efforts in coordination with the Global Head of PR & Communications, legal, and executive teamsCollaborate cross-functionally with creative & marketing, leasing, asset management, and development teams to ensure message consistency across owned, earned, and paid channelsMonitor media coverage and industry trends; prepare regular reporting on PR metrics and share insights with leadership and key stakeholdersStay current on evolving media, communications, and industry trends; bring informed perspective and best practices to the broader teamQualifications10+ years of experience in public relations and communications, with a track record of operating effectively in complex, matrixed organizationsDeep expertise in real estate, urban development, placemaking, retail/f&b, or a closely related industry strongly preferredDemonstrated ability to develop and execute communications strategies that drive measurable business outcomes and elevate brand reputation at a national or global scaleExceptional written and verbal communications skills, with a sophisticated ability to distill complex narratives for diverse audiences—from investors and media to community stakeholdersA robust and established network of media relationships across business, real estate, design, and lifestyle verticalsProven experience advising C-suite executives on communications strategy and media positioningExperience managing agency relationships and collaborating across cross-functional internal teamsAbility to travel domestically and internationally as needed, with flexibility for events outside standard business hoursBachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field required; advanced degree a plusKnowledge Of KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: The national and global media landscape across business, real estate, design, retail, and urban development sectorsCorporate communications, investor relations alignment, reputation strategy, and issues management at an enterprise levelBest practices in integrated communications, including the intersection of earned, owned, and paid mediaSkill InStrategic storytelling, message development, and narrative building across complex, multi-stakeholder environmentsBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with media, industry contacts, and internal partners at all levelsCrisis communications and issues management, with a calm and solutions-oriented approach under pressureInfluencing without authority and operating effectively across global, cross-functional teamsManaging competing priorities and complex workstreams with composure, precision, and a solutions-oriented mindset
