Quality Lab Technician (Aerospace - Plastic Mfg.)

Our products are used by the aerospace, automotive, marine, green energy, and recreational sports industries to create cutting edge lighter, stronger, and greener components.JOB SUMMARY:Performs quality checks on incoming materials and of finished product, using laboratory testing equipment where appropriate. In addition, responsible for organizing and storing controlled documents in Airtech's document control system.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Performs organization of controlled documents through Airtech's document control software. Organizes documents and publishes them for approval and assures that the document comments are updated as appropriate.Obtains a copy of the purchase order and verifies material received against the purchase order and verifies that specification test reports accompany the shipment or is already on file. When test results are unacceptable, advises Quality Assurance Manager for appropriate action.Obtains random samples from outgoing pallets of processed or, as applicable, purchased product and checks with laboratory instruments that the samples meet company quality standards and customer's standards. Retains samples as required by contract, purchase order or per standard procedures.Receives samples from Machine Operator on startup of new line runs as applicable. Checks samples and advises if they meet company product specifications.Receives samples from supervisor and checks reworked product for compliance with company standards.Checks and verifies, where applicable, machine setups and paperwork to be sure the most current and accurate information is available to the Machine Operators.Prepares necessary test reports and trend charts in support of lab inspection function.Assists supervisors with quality problem follow-up checks.Keeps neat and orderly work area.Performs all work in a manner providing for safety and health of self and other plant personnel.Must possess good communication skills and legible handwriting.Must have passed yearly forklift certification testing.Notifies supervisor or manager of any potential safety hazards.Performs other jobs and tasks as assigned by management.EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND WORK EXPERIENCE:High school degree and proficiency in math and science or equivalent work experience.Knowledge of company quality requirements and manuals.Knowledge of PC programs preferred.SCHEDULE:7:00 AM - 3:30 PM; Monday - FridayWE HIRE YOU TO RETIRE YOU:Working for Airtech means being part of a global family that believes in long-term employment and promoting from within, along with personal and professional development.
