About The PositionGolden State is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Manager team to support the growth of our business. This is a hands-on role that combines high-level technical execution with rigorous oversight. As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for both the primary preparation of complex financial data and the critical review of accounting cycles to ensure 100% accuracy and GAAP compliance. This role is designed for a technical and operational expert who thrives on “owning the work” from entry to final financial statement presentation.Come share your expertise while learning more about this growing sports and entertainment organization that values your initiative and dedication!This is a full-time, on-site position located in San Francisco, CA.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the end-to-end accounting owner for designated entities or business unitsServe as the primary point of contact for all accounting-related mattersProactively identify risks, opportunities, and accounting impactsEnsure financial results accurately reflect underlying business activityManage and deliver core accounting functions, including general ledger, month-end close, and account reconciliationsAct as the final reviewer for schedules prepared by peers, ensuring all work is audit-ready and GAAP compliantEnsure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reportingProactively manage audit requests, providing high-quality supporting documentation and clear narratives for auditorsServe as the primary expert for contract review and documentationHandle complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, accruals, and technical accounting researchEnsure compliance with GAAP, League, and company policiesPartner with business leads to understand new transactions; proactively identify accounting implications and draft technical memos to document the appropriate treatmentPartner cross-functionally with teams such as FP&A, Legal, and OperationsPrepare and analyze reports for internal stakeholders, provide timely responses to financial questions, and support financial planning effortsProactively monitor business activities to ensure new revenue streams or expenses are captured and accounted for in real-timeDrive process improvements and automation initiatives to increase efficiencyRepresent the accounting function in transformational projects; map out data flows, design journal entry logic for new systems, and complete User Acceptance Testing (UAT)Draft and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accounting processes to ensure consistency and knowledge retentionOther duties as assignedRequired Experience And SkillsBachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, or equivalent work experienceCertified Public Accounting (CPA) certification preferredMinimum 5 years of progressive accounting experienceStrong knowledge of US GAAP; familiarity with NBA League reporting requirements a plusExpertise with ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite, Oracle, or SAP) and reporting toolsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite / Google Suite; advanced Excel skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesStrong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyEffective communication skills, both written and verbalExperience working in a fast-paced, high-growth/dynamic environmentExposure to system implementations or process transformation initiatives a plusCompensation$128,000 - 130,000 Per Year + BonusComprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision benefits for employees and dependentsEmployer 401K matchVacation, Summer Half-Day Fridays and a generous paid time off plan for pregnancy and parental leavesWarriors home tickets, team store discount and more!Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.Golden State is an equal opportunity employer.We will ensure that qualified applicants with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment.Want to learn more about who we are and what we value?
