We all win together.What We’ll NeedThe Senior Software Engineer – Restaurant Tech POS & Intelligent Systems is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for designing and implementing scalable restaurant technology solutions that modernize Wingstop’s POS and back-office ecosystem.This Role Will Focus On Building resilient, secure, high-performance POS integrations Designing cloud-native APIs and distributed services Supporting inventory modernization and item master separation from legacy NBO systems Developing reusable integration patterns across POS, kitchen, and enterprise platforms Establishing secure, PCI-aware transaction flows Leveraging AI-enabled development practices to improve engineering velocity and system reliabilityThis individual will operate as a technical owner within the Restaurant Technology domain, ensuring scalable architecture, clean design standards, and operational excellence across restaurant systems.Role Responsibilities Architect and build scalable integration services supporting POS and back-office modernization Design distributed APIs ensuring high availability and low latency across restaurant systems Support inventory-aware workflows including item availability and stock synchronization Lead separation and redesign of item master ownership from legacy systems Establish automated testing standards and release quality controls Implement observability, monitoring, and production reliability practices Ensure compliance with PCI and data protection standards Partner cross-functionally to align technical solutions with operational business needs Contribute to AI-enabled automation initiatives improving engineering productivity and operational insightWhat You’ll NeedEducation Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)Certifications Cloud certifications (AWS preferred) are a plusTools & Technical Experience 7+ years of professional software engineering experience Strong experience in restaurant POS, retail store systems, or hospitality technology Backend expertise in Python and API architecture Experience designing distributed systems in AWS Experience building high-availability, low-latency transaction systems Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and release quality controls Familiarity with PCI-sensitive or regulated transaction environments Hands-on experience deploying AI, generative AI, or agent-based systems in production environments is preferredPeople Skills Strong cross-functional collaboration skills Ability to translate operational business requirements into scalable system design High ownership and accountability mindset Clear written and verbal communication skills Commitment to engineering excellence, testing discipline, and production reliability Ability to operate independently as a senior individual contributorWho You AreNo job is too small.
