Building & Grounds Maintenance Technician

Summary:Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Building & Grounds Technician performs a variety of general maintenance, repair, and facility upkeep tasks throughout the warehouse. This role requires proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, sprinkler, and carpentry systems. The Technician works independently to ensure that all facility systems and equipment are safe, functional, and compliant with OSHA standards.We offer multiple schedule options to fit your availability:Morning Shift (4:00 AM - 2:30 PM)Sunday - WednesdayWednesday - SaturdayAfternoon Shift (12:00 PM - 10:30 PM)Sunday - WednesdayWednesday - SaturdayEssential Functions:Perform repairs and adjustments on warehouse infrastructure including doors, dock levelers, freezer doors, and electrical components, in accordance with OSHA standards.Inspect and test operational equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.Test, maintain, and evaluate equipment performance using diagnostic tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters.Maintain batteries and chargers in safe working condition and ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.Conduct routine tests of safety equipment (e.g., exit signs, fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.Maintain tools and machinery in proper working condition, using all equipment safely and as instructed.Keep accurate preventive maintenance and repair records.Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, ensuring compliance with 6S standards.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.Qualifications & Experience:Minimum of one (1) year of experience in maintenance or a related mechanical trade.Proficient in troubleshooting and performing mechanical and electrical repairs.Strong communication, documentation, and basic mathematical skills.Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions, sketches, and diagrams.Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely in mechanically oriented situations.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, and holidays.Education & Certifications:High school diploma or GED required (vocational or technical training preferred).BGDC Distribution is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
