Assistant Designer (Manhattan)
Title: Asst DesignerLocation: Manhattan, NY (Hybrid- 3 days in office 2 days WFH)Duration: 3 Month Contract + Possibility of ExtensionShift: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday to FridayNote: Those Candidates who can work on W2 basis without any sponsorship are encouraged to apply.Description:The Associate Designer is an individual contributor position responsible for assisting with the creation of commercially viable product designs across a specific category and collections.This role coordinates and delivers brand-right designs that tie back to the overall concept and business strategy, encompassing style, color/print, fit and fabric for new/existing product lines.This person applies a solid working knowledge of fashion trends and consumer needs to product designs, while demonstrating passion for the brand.Need someone who is associate/senior associate level with good lingerie experience. We need someone who has a strong design eye, strong hand sketching and strong CAD skills.We prioritize fabric, trim details, silhouettes and cohesion of the collection. Please display a mix of hand sketches and flat, technical CADs for products that could fit within this aesthetic, preferably displaying your capability to design bras, panties, lingerie (teddies, corsets, babydolls, garterbelts etc) and RTW (slips, skirts, dresses) etc.RESPONSIBILITIES:Create brand-right, commercial designs that reflect the conceptual direction/business strategy.Develop seasonal product with a focus on style, fit and fabricDeliver design sketches/prototypes and provide specificationsAdapt designs based on feedback, incorporating for finalizationQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Design3+ years of design experience in a comparable retail environmentPrior experience in Lingerie/Corseterie constructions and understanding of female body silhouetteSound knowledge of fashion history (key designers / styles)Commercial fashion eye and detail in product styling/performanceCustomer service philosophyCollaborative partner with a team-oriented approachHighly motivated, passionate and results orientedSolid communication and presentation skillsChampion for change and able to react with speed and agilityFlexible and creative problem solver.Personal professionalism and accountabilityModerate domestic travelMicrosoft Office proficiencyAdobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign proficiencyPLM system knowledge is a plusBeautiful hand sketching skill is a plus
