FileCloud Administrator

Serve as the primary FileCloud Administrator, with 5+ years of experience, for the Iowa Department of Management (DOM). Oversee and manage the DIAL AWS GovCloud environment, including AMANDA, FileCloud, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). Provide comprehensive technical support and troubleshooting for all FileCloud users, including staff onboarding and issue resolution. Administer and manage AWS infrastructure for VDI, ensuring secure, reliable, and optimized operations. Monitor cloud infrastructure, ensure security and compliance, and perform regular maintenance tasks (including on-call/nightly/weekend patching and upgrades). Collaborate effectively with multiple teams, providing clear status updates and adhering to quality standards. Independently learn and adapt to new systems, processes, and business needs. Advise on strategic planning and cloud adoption or migration initiatives, including application readiness, prototyping, server builds, and data migration. Design, implement, and troubleshoot distributed systems architecture on public/private cloud infrastructure. Utilize deployment automation tools and monitor complex distributed environments for performance and connectivity issues. Apply extensive knowledge in hardware, software, networking, storage, and IT security across Windows, Linux, and CLI environments. Communicate clearly in both written and verbal forms, especially in customer-facing/support/consulting roles. Deliver performance tuning and optimization of cloud environments. Provide technical expertise in infrastructure components and relevant applications (e.g., Java, .Net) within secure environments.
